Last winter, Hibo's story began in a dumpster.... My friend (Grace) found him (= Hibo), the mom cat, and three tiny siblings abandoned in the dumpster of Grace's apartment building. Grace brought them all in, caring for the mother cat and the kittens in her tiny apartment, and the kittens looked like only weeks old.
One month later, I finally picked him up. It felt like a little miracle. I didn't spend a penny to 'own' him, but today he's the most expensive thing in my life, literally priceless.
At the time, I was in the middle of moving, with no experience at all with cats (or any pets). But deep down, I just knew Hibo was meant to come with me. Grace has lots of cat experience, she reminded me that kittens should stay with their mom for at least two months - so I waited.
